System Dynamics Pitfalls and Pointers
Using TIME, STARTTIME and TIMESTEP
In Powersim Studio, time has five distinct meanings: Time Horizon,
Time Status, Elapsed Time, Time Unit and Delta Time, dt,
(commonly called Timestep). Three specific Powersim Studio functions, that is,
TIME, START TIME and TIMESTEP are used in the algebraic
formulation of expressions for auxiliary and rate-controlling variables in simulation
models.
The following describes how to use TIME, START TIME and
TIMESTEP functions correctly in system dynamics models .
